Planning the Move to Virginia

We're a go for next Friday. We are sad it will be our last playgroup. We finally have our moving package and are quickly making plans. They called yesterday and we already have plane tickets to go look for apartments on Monday and we will actually move sometime between May 5 and 11. Please keep Dorothy and Trey in your prayers again. He is having open heart surgery next week (Wed or Fri). He was born with a leaking valve but they were going to let him make it to 2 yrs old before they worked on him because of the drugs messing up his growth. So, when he went in for a minor ear infection on Monday the doctor noticed his murmur was severely worsened. Dorothy says you can just lay your head on his chest and hear it with your plain ear. Scary. Anyway, they sent him immediately to the cardiologist and found that one more valve has completely collapsed. He's a fighter though. He'll pull through yet again. Hopefully I'll have an update at playgroup next week if the surgery is on Wed.

Good Timing

We had Ben's 9 month wellness check-up yesterday morning. We had a regular morning and I put him in the car to go to the pediatrician's office. As I pulled into the parking lot, he vomited all over the car seat and the car and himself. I wiped him down as best I could and we went in. The doctor couldn't see anything wrong with him, but he's probably got a tummy bug since he threw up again while we were there and several more times yesterday. Thank heavens for a steam cleaner for the car and the carpets at home. Needless to say, we'll miss playgroup again today. Other than being sick, he only gained 5 ounces in the last 3 months and he dropped to the 3rd percentile. We had to go to get a ton of lab work done to see why he isn't growing. I think he eats plenty and the doctor agreed. Now we're anxious to see what the lab work says. They took 6 or 7 huge vials of blood and it took 3 of us to hold him down to do it. Poor kid.
