Mover Come in about 30 hrs

We are all frazzled. Rough day. Lots of tears. Ben broke and was screaming that it was all our fault and we have all the power and he has absolutely no control of anything he ever gets to do. He's been lying and hiding stuff and freaking out. Jacob has had a fever for two plus days now. Maddie's ears are broken and she never hears a darn thing we say. Mom has a short fuse. Dad seems to keep working and ignores everything going on.

Ben needs a break so he's in the back yard playing with Ashlyn and she's living it. She follows his every move. He gets a drink, she gets a drink. He runs left she runs left. He is in happy heaven. It's past bedtime but this needs to happen now. It is beautiful to hear so much giggling again in our house even if I know it will all come apart when I say it's time to brush teeth at least they have this happy memory and moment together.

Santa's House

The family was in the car going to Sentosa Beach when I called them today.  When I asked Ashlyn what she was doing she told me she was going to Santa's House.  We were a little confused until we realized Sentosa does sound like Santa.

You Know You're and Expat When...

...your kid sees a sats gateway truck on the school campus (30 min drive from the airport) and says, "Hey, that's the trucks that do food at the airport isn't it?"

Normal Kids

Brian was told today, May 14, they went to pick up his igama but something wasn't paid. They are making sure it is paid now and he should get it tomorrow. That means he can leave the country and come home once it is in hand. All our fingers and toes are crossed at our house that it can really happen. We'd all love to see dad again.

Lightening Capital of the World

Singapore is known for the unbelievable number of lightening strikes every year. They take it very seriously here because of the extreme danger and how fast it can strike. I just went outside to cut the grass one last time but decided against it when lightening struck just outside my front gate. Within seconds I could smell burning. That was close. I'm thankful it didn't touch the ground today.

Change

Just bought a $44 computer cooling fan because ithe laptops BOTH keep shutting off when they overheat. I got a $50 bill and pulled out a ziplock baggie of coins started to count to get to the $4 so change was an easy $10 bill for them to return to me. They took one look and asked it is wanted to just hange it all. They really wanted my change. SWEET!!! My purse is several pounds lighter now and all my $0.50 and $.10 are gone. Plus I made significant headway on the $0.20 pieces the other day buying groceries. I'm whittling down on my money to do list of cashing things in.

Character Dress Up Day

Today was alternate dress in the intermediate school. Can you guess what Ben chose to dress up as?

We Grow 'Em Small

I just pulled a pair of shorts size 18 month from Maddie's laundry. She turns eight years old at the end of the summer. I can believe they were still in there. Or that she wore them last week!

May Begins

I turned the calendar over from April to May this morning. Pack out day is literally in sight. That churns lots of stress emotions inside.
