I’m sorry, but it’s really hard to take security guards seriously here. They are tiny, thin, Asian men. Just not the night club bouncer look. I’m not denying that they could totally take down this old mom, but still, they just don’t have a very demanding presence.

I don't know, Angie, you're pretty tough. I would put my money on you! Hehe! I so enjoy reading your posts about Singapore. We think of you guys often and miss you much!
Here in Bangkok the typical parking lot security guard is poorly paid, barely trained, and possibly illiterate. Many of them are honest, hardworking guys who are doing what they can to take care of their families. Others moonlight in illicit activities and should be severly reprimanded.
That said, I have no doubt that you could take out 99% of them, machete or not. ;-)
